Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan review ....

Hey guys :)

I have a product review for you today and it's of the Cocoa brown 1 hour tan by Marissa Carter, it's £7.99 a bottle, and you can find it online on feel unique but also in some Primark stores.

If you know me you'll most likely know that I love fake tan ( maybe a little to much sometimes) but you may also know I am super pale, I mean like as pale as they come, and this often influences what tans I buy. So time for a little bit of info about this product, it's actually a product from Ireland and Marissa Carter had the pale skinned Irish girls in mind when coming up with her tans, this tan is also different to most other tans as you don't have to wait around 8 hours for it to develop it develops to a lovely bronze colour in just an hour so no more sleeping with your tan on.

Lets move onto before and after pictures, ( I cant believe I'm actually putting up pictures of my pale legs on the internet for everyone to see)

As you can see I am super pale, I actaully avoided fake tan for around 2 weeks so you could all have a good look at how this tan actually works on pale skin

This is the colour straight after applying, Im pretty impressed with this colour it's a nice subtle colour on the skin.

This is the colour my legs went after leaving the tan for around two hours and then washing it off.

And again take note of just how pale my arms actually are.

This is after leaving the tan on for around 2 hours and washing it off, the tan took really well to my arms actually and went this gorgeous colour.

Ok time for the Pro's and Con's of this tan.

Pro's

  • Only takes 1 hour to develop
  • Doesn't go orangey on pale skin
  • Doesn't have that usual fake tan biscuit smell
  • Is a good price for fake tan
  • Apply's really easy and smooth
  • Isn't drying on the skin at all
  • Dries quickly so no waiting around for a tacky to tan dry
  • The colour actually carries on developing after rinsing it off
  • Contains no parabens
Con's
  • Even though it doesn't smell like tan, it has a very strong perfume smell, which I am finding to be pretty over powering
  • As it is quick drying you need to work fast with this, get it rubbed in quickly

Overall I'm pretty much in love with this tan, and it is definitely going to be my new go to tan, as I can leave it for just an hour and get a really pretty subtle colour or leave it for around 3 and get a very deep dark tan, and for all you pale girls out there I say just give this tan a go, it was made with you girls in mind.

Nail varnish collection ....

Hey guys :)

So not only am I little obsessed with makeup but I'm kind of obsessed with nail varnish, I love having perfectly painted nails, I just feel so much more put together when my nails are painted and especially when they match my outfit for that day, I do find myself painting my nails several times a week, and as you can imagine my nail varnish collection is pretty big and is still growing, but I had it all just shoved in a draw and just couldn't see what colours I actually had, so I'm going to share with you how I organised my collection, but I'm also going to show my whole collection, so brace yourself for a long post.

Lets start with organisation, so as I said I used to have all my nail varnish shoved in a drawer, and I really couldn't see what colours I had and often I was too lazy to go and dig through all the bottles to find a colour I wanted, I also noticed a lot of my colours started to separate as they were lay on their sides for a long period of time.

I wanted somewhere to store my nail varnish, which wouldn't take up too much space and that I could easily see what I have and get to it, so I'd see a few people use these accessory hangers with the clear pockets on to put theirs in. When looking for one I thought they would be easier to find then they actually were, in the end I found this one in home bargains for £3.99, as it is a little cheap the hanger that comes with it started to bend with the weight of all the nail varnish so I managed to fit an extra hanger in there for some extra support.

I have to say I actually really love having my nail varnish organised like this. I did take the time to sort of colour coordinate mine a bit as I just like the way it looks, mine is looking pretty full however so I'm either going to have to stop buying nail varnish or get another organiser, and you can probably guess which one its going to be.

As I was taking the photos of my collection all organised, I thought I should treat you all to a little look at my collection, so I have added some photos below of what is in each pocket and put the names of the colours underneath.

Selena Gomez makeup tutorial ...

Hey guys :)

I have another makeup tutorial for you today, and it's the look that Selena Gomez is wearing in her music video for come and get it, when I saw this video the other day for the first time, I couldn't stop staring at how good her makeup looked and I thought I'd show you how to get a look just like hers. I have to say this isn't a look that I would usually go for, I don't tend to go this heavy and dark with eye makeup and I wouldn't be brave enough to wear this out with the really bold lip, but I actually did I enjoy doing this look.

(A little note before we start don't take notice of my eye brows I'm trying to grow them out a bit so I can go get them re shaped soon, so sorry about the messy brows. )

For my face I used my Rimmel fix and perfect primer, then some of my Revlon photo ready BB cream, as I thought a full coverage foundation would look way to heavy for this look, I then concealed my blemishes and the redness around my nose with my Collection lasting perfection concealer, and just brightened under my eyes with their brightening concealer, I then set everything with a lose powder, and lastly I added a bit of a bronze highlighter to my cheek bones using my MACs mineralize skin finish in Semi-precious goldstone.

So as always I started with a primer on my lids to keep the shadows in place, this is really important especially when doing a heavy eye like this one. I used MAC's paint pot in painterly.

Then I took woodwinked from MAC which is a gorgeous gold colour, I patted this all over my lid then took a fluffy brush and blended it out at the crease, what is great about this eye shadow is when you blend it the gold shimmer blends away and your left with a brown colour, so it's great for using on the lid and crease as you only need one colour.

Then I took the matte black from my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and patted it onto the outer corner of my eyes, take your time with this and build up the colour slowly, don't go in to heavy handed with the black and keep blending with a seperate clean brush, remember you want this to be a smokey eye look.

Next I took my black gel eyeliner in black track from MAC on a very fine brush and just lined my lash line and created a small flick, this doesn't have to be super neat as I'm going to go back over it and smoke it out with a black eyeshadow.

I took an angled brush and the same black eyeshadow that I used before and went over the liner and made the flick thicker and larger with the eyeshadow, by using eyeshadow over the liner it makes the line a lot softer and more smokey.

Then I just lined the water line of my eyes with a black liner for this I used Perversion from Urban decay, I love their eyeliners , they are super easy to work with and really pigmented and last all day, I also ran a little bit of the black eyeshadow under my lashes, then added lots and lots of mascara for this look I used Maybeline colossal volume express the smokey eyes addition.

And that's the eyes done, now at this point I would usually just add a nude lipstick to keep all the focus on the eyes like I'm wearing in the picture below. But I am recreating a look, so lets move onto adding a really bold lip.

The lip colour Selena has in the video is a very bright orange toned red, so I used my Maybeline colour sensation in neon red from their vivid collection, this is a lovely bright neon red with an orange under tone, which was perfect for this look.

Now just add some waves to your hair using a straightener and that is the Selena Gomez come and get it look finished.

Hope you enjoyed this look and I'll leave the link the video that gave me the inspiration for this look, if there are any other looks you want me to try to recreate feel free to leave me a comment below and I'll see what I can do.
