MAC cream sheen + pearl

Hey guys :)

So this September in the UK ( august in the US) mac brought out a new collection of lip products. The difference with this collection is that mac are actually going to make it part of their permanent line, so there's no need to rush out to get these products and none of that disappointment when your local mac counter sells out.

The collection is not a huge one and is only lip products there are 8 cremesheen lipsticks and 7 cremesheen lip glasses. The lipsticks retail at £14 each and the glosses at £17 . Mac describe the collection as a "shimmering  twist on an instant classic". These are the same formulation as the normal cremesheen lip products apart from the added extra of crushed pearl, which reflect the light beautifully. The names of the products all have an oriental theme to them and the colours of them all seem to be in the same tones of neutrals  pinks and corals, with the added bright orange lipstick in Saigon Summer.

The full cremesheen + pearl collection.

Even though I loved all of the colours in this collection ( which is very rare for me) I only went for the two colours that I thought I would wear the most and that I don't have similar colours too. I also only went for lipsticks rather then the lip glosses as I am going through more of a lipstick phase at the moment, but seen as this collection is permanent I can see me slowly collecting more of these gorgeous colours.

The two colours I went for were Sunny Seoul which is a gorgeous warm mid toned pink and coral bliss which as the name suggests is a coral colour. Both of these work really well for a daytime look with minimal makeup just to brighten up the face, or they work really well with a more heavy smokey eye where you need the lip to be less in your face and more subtle and understated. Overall I have to say I really have fallen in love with these lipsticks the gorgeous colours and the formulation that left my lips feeling soft and moisturised but still had a really good colour pay off.

10 products I would repurchase.

Hey guys :)

At the moment I am completely addicted to watching the "10 products I would repurchase" tag videos, it's a pretty easy tag to do, you just have to imagine that all your make up gets lost or stolen, and you just have to say what 10 products you have to repurchase. Now I did find this hard to stick to just the 10 products so I have cheated a little, but I just couldn't keep it down to 10. There are a mixture of higher end brands and cheaper brands.
The ten products I would repurchase.

So for foundation that I would  repurchase I couldn't chose just one so I have two, one that I love for nights out and when I want more coverage and the other is more for the day time with a lot lighter coverage.

The foundation that I would repurchase and at the moment I really need to as Im running a little low is my mac cosmetics studio fix fluid, I wear the colour NW22 which is quite a lot darker then my skin but I only use this foundation for nights out and I always have fake tan on for a night out. The finish on this foundation is not completely matte but at the same time it's not super dewy, however as it is SPF 15 it does reflect light when using the flash on a camera so make sure you set it well with a powder. I find this foundation medium to full coverage but it very buildable. The only problem with this foundation would be the smell it has quite a strong paint like smell but once on your skin it wears away, also if you are going to purchase this foundation i would advise to you to buy the pump as it can get a little messy when pouring out the foundation and you can waste a lot of product. I like to apply this foundation with my real techniques  buffing brush as I find I get a more flawless and almost airbrushed like affect.

Mac studio fix fluid  - £20.50

The other foundation well its not really a foundation its a BB cream that I would repurchase would have to be the Maybelline dream fresh BB. I absolutely love this BB cream for wearing in the day time I do own it in two shades the light and the medium so I can change it up a little depending if I have tan on or not. Now for the day time I don't like to cake my face in heavy foundation this is why this BB cream is perfect it feels like you are just applying a very light moisturiser and it soaks in very quickly and doesn't feel like you are wearing anything on your skin at all. It does only give a very light coverage so sometimes I do have to go in with my concealer and hide any blemishes or dark circles. I find the best way to apply this is with my hands as it warms up the product and makes it easier to blend into the skin I found when I used a brush I had to use a lot more product and did feel like it looked a little streaky on my skin.

Maybelline dream fresh BB - £7.99

When it comes to concealer there is on that I use religiously and its the lasting perfection concealer from collection 2000, even though this is on the cheaper side of concealers I have found it as good as and in some cases better then some of the higher end ones. I have this concealer in three colour fair, light and medium as I find I get a more flawless finish when I use a range of different colours. Again like with the BB cream I use my fingers to apply this as it helps to blend it. The only problem with this product is that all the text and logos rub of pretty much straight away.

Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer - £4.19

I put these next two products together so i could cheat a little and squeeze some more products into the tag. The powder that I have repurchased several times before is the collection 2000 lasting perfection ultimate wear powder in the colour fair. I use this to just lightly dust over my foundation on a night out to keep the shine down and set my foundation, now as much as I love this powder use a light hand as it can look a bit chalky and cakey if you use to much. Also I apologise for the state of this powder my lid broke and some foundation exploded all over it so it does look a little grubby.

Lasting perfection powder - £2.99

As I go through quite a lot of bronzer, my bronzer of choice is the Rimmel london natural bronzer in sun bronze, the reason why I love this bronzer so much is it is completely matte which makes it great for contouring and for building up a darker colour on the face and neck area.

Rimmel London natural bronzer - £5.99

On a night out there is nothing more that I love then have super highlighted cheeks, and to do this I love my mac cosmetics mineralize skin finish powder in semi precious goldstone, this was from the semi precious collection that was out around summer last year. This is a super shimmery bronze with a pink and gold centre.

Mac cosmetics mineralize skin finish - £21.50

I think every video I have watched of this tag have all included the same product for the eye shadow and that the Urban decay naked palette, I would be lost with out this palette you can use the colours lightly in the day to achieve a natural yet put together look or you can use the darker colours and easily achieve a dark smokey eye.

Urban decay naked palette - £36

I am a huge lover of liquid eye liner especially for a quick easy look in the day and my all time favourite is the L'Oreal paris super liner in black lacquer, this eye line does not budge all day you don't need to worry about it cracking and smudging once on this is no moving. I like to go for the black lacquer one as it has a slight shine to it and I think this stands out more on the eye. The brush is also super easy to control, it gives quite a thin line but is easily built to a thicker one and this brush is super for doing that classic cat eye flick.

L'Oreal paris super liner

I think that the mascara that I have chosen is one of those products that I think most girls have tried out . It's the maybelline falsies mascara and my personal favourite in this range is the volume express in black drama. I love the curved wand it makes it really easy to get full looking lashes and the colour is super super dark which I absolutely love.

Maybelline the falsies volume express - £7.99

The lipstick/ lipgloss combo that I love for everyday and have done for I think about two years now is a mixture of a high end product and cheaper product. It is the 17 mirror shine on lipstick in bee-hive and then over the top the mac cosmetics luster glass in love nectar. the lipstick is a pink based neutral colour and the lipgloss is a gorgeous coral colour with a small amount of gold glitter.
17 mirror shine on lipstick- £4.59  Mac cosmetics luster glass - £13.50

The final product that I would repurchase over and over is the vaseline lip therapy in rosy lips, I love this to wear before putting on lipstick to keep my lips moisturised or its handy to just have in my bag to put on when my lips are feeling a little dry and sore, and the very slight touch of colour is great as it makes your lips look like your own but even better.

Vaseline lip therapy - £1.99

So if you managed to make it this far well done, this has been one long blog post hopefully you found this interesting and enjoyed a little look into what I suppose you could call my must have products .

Viva la Juicy

Hey guys :)

You know that super sad time, when your favourite perfume is close to running out ? well it's that time for me again, and not just one perfume but my favourite two. I have to say though, these two perfumes have served me well and lasted me quite a while, I've had them both now for just over a year, and its safe to say I'm very heavy handed when it comes to applying the perfume, I mean you can smell me coming from a mile off, well maybe not that extreme but you get the idea, and I know that really annoys some people, but I just like to make sure you can smell what I'm wearing.

So what are these two favourite perfumes ? Well they are both juicy couture fragrances, they are the Viva La Juicy and Peace Love and Juicy Couture.

Left: Viva La juicy  Right: Peace Love and Juicy

My favourite out of the two has to be the Viva La Juicy, this is my go to evening and night out fragrance. There are lots of things about this I love but first lets start with the obvious, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, it is a thick heavy rectangle glass bottle, with a crystal style top, and then there's that big bright hot pink bow, its just so girly and eye catching, I love to have this one out on display in my room.

The only way to really describe this scent that i can think of is warm and not overly sweet, this is why i personally prefer it for the evening and nights out, now like most people i'm not the best at smelling a perfume and describing the scents in each note, so i did go online and found how Juicy Couture describe it themselves. They describe it by saying it has top notes of wild berries and mandarin, with honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine, with underlying notes of amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and praline.

Viva La Juicy in all its hot pink glory.

Peace Love and Juicy is more of a fresh smelling day time scent, Im obsessed with wearing this in the day and it's surprising how many comments you get about it, its not your usual day time perfume, its got a very earthy scent to it. Juicy Couture describe it as having notes of lemon blossom, wild hyacinth, sweet apple, black current , jasmine, magnolia and patchouli flower.

Something really cute about this bottle is the charms and blue beads round the top, are actually a bracelet now personally i've never worn mine as a bracelet as it leaves my bottle looking a bit bare, but i have tried it on and it looks super cute, and on trend with everyone seeming to be going crazy for these sorts of blue stones on their jewellery.

Peace Love and Juicy Couture

I will be super sad when either one of these two runs out as I do love them and they were not the cheapest perfumes ever to buy.

Here we go again...

Hey guys :)

So back in February I posted my first blog post, but soon after i chickened out of telling anyone i knew about the blog and even chickened out of posting on it again. But after a good few months,of thinking about it and collecting lots of products to review and thinking of a few ideas of what to post about, I'm back and I've decided to give this blogging another go.

So like I said I've been thinking of a few ideas of interesting blog posts so that is not just like every other beauty blog. At first I was going to keep this a strictly beauty blog, but being a student at university I don't have the funds to be going out and buying lots of products to test and review for you all. So I decided to add a bit of everything to this blog, along with the beauty posts, I thought i would include a bit of stuff about how I decorate and organise my room at university, how i organise my bag for university and what I think are essentials to have in your university/school bag, along with posts about my every day life and what I'm up too including some posts on the trip I'm planning to Singapore and Thai Land.

So that was just a quick update on things, now onto the fun stuff :)
