Benefit stay flawless 15 hour primer ...

Hey guys :)

So just recently I've really been getting back into wearing a primer under my foundation, and when looking for a new one to try I came across Benefit's stay flawless 15 hour primer, and I have to say I love this primer and I think it's going to be my go to primer for sometime. This isn't like any other primer I have used before which are usually a cream or a gel formula, this one comes in a stick and is like a balm, and don't be worried by the pale beige colour this works on all skin tones as it goes on clear.

Now this claims to be a 15 hour primer, although I cant tell you if it makes my foundation last for 15 hours as I don't keep foundation on for that long, I can say that it definitely helped keep my foundation looking flawless while I was working on a bar at a festival last weekend in this hot weather we are having, when I got home from my shift I can safely say my foundation looked as good as it did when I left the house in the morning.

It isn't the cheapest primer out there at around £24 but it is most definitely worth it, below the pictures I have made a list of the pro's and con's, and I have also included a few tips about how I like to use it.

Pro's

  • Easy to travel with and compact as it is in a balm form
  • Easy to use just swipe across the face
  • Helps to give your foundation better coverage
  • Makes foundation look flawless
  • Foundation lasts all day
  • Don't need to use a lot of the primer to make it work effectively
  • Need to use less foundation
  • Doesn't make foundation feel heavy

Con's
  • Foundation can feel a bit sticky until it dries properly
  • You have to work quick with your foundation
  • For best results it suggests using hand and I hate putting foundation on with hands

My tips and tricks
  • If you don't want to use your hands to apply foundation and if your anything like me you only like to apply foundation with a brush, then I suggest working in sections, put primer on your forehead then blend foundation into that area, do the same for each cheek and then the chin and nose area, it feels a bit weird doing it like this, but you have to work fast with this product, and this is the best way to get a really flawless finish when using a brush. And to be honest I would probably do this if using my hands as well.
  • This primer not only works well with foundations, but makes BB creams look amazing on the skin as well, which is a huge plus in my books as in the summer time, I only tend to use BB creams and save my foundation for nights out.
  • Now this is probably my own fault but only after a week my primer actually broke ( i can still use it though) I think it was a combination of two things, the hot temperature of my room as this primer is in balm form try to keep in cool, and a bit of heavy handedness on my part, be gentle you don't need to press the primer hard onto your skin to get the best results.
