Victoria's secrets makeup ...

Hey guys :)

We all know how stunning the Victoria's secret angels are, and I mean who wouldn't want to look like that ?
I do get a lot of my hair and makeup inspiration from these girls, and I was thinking why not do a full blown Victoria's secret makeover on my self and show how the hair and makeup can make you look and feel like one of the angels.

The look I've decided to do today, is something that you would see Miranda Kerr or Alessandra Ambrosio wearing in the fashion shows, the skin is simple but bronzed, nude lips and all the attention on the eyes with lots of golds and browns all smoked out, and then for the hair big bouncy curls. Below is a before and after shot of the hair and makeup.

The hair for this look is going to be in two parts, you don't have to do this first part, but I find it helps the curls around the face last a long the time, for this hair look all you need is a large curling wand, some clips, a brush or comb for backcombing, hair spray and some sort of oil or finishing spray for shine.

First I separated the hair in front of my ear and just moved the rest out of the way, as we are just focusing on the hair framing the face for now, take a section of the hair and curl it away from the face, the away from your face is important, if you curl it towards the face it's just going to fall forward and hide your face.

Once you have taken then hair off the curling wand just hold it in the palm of your hand for a few seconds while it cools, this helps to keep the curl really bouncy.

Now just roll up the curl and clip it in place, it should just naturally roll, it may be a little tricky at first but keep practicing.

Do this to the rest of the hair surrounding your face, and should end up with something like this, if you have shorter layer you could do this to those as well to give them more volume.

Now it's the fun bit, it's makeup time. I'm actually going to start with my eyes first and do the face later just in case there is any fall out from the dark brown shadows. First make sure you prime your lids, this way you eye shadows will last all day/night with out creasing, it also makes the colours look bolder and more pigmented, I just used my urban decay primer potion for this.

For the base colour I went for a very pale and cool toned gold from my urban decay Naked 2 palette and it is the colour suspect, i just patted this all over my lid.

Now its time for the crease, although this may not look like its doing much it really helps all the colours blend together and makes your eyes look bigger, I took a medium matte brown called Buck from the Urban decay Naked palette, I took it on a fluffy brush a just blended it into the crease of my eye.

I then used the same brush and technique but with a darker more shimmery colour from the Naked palette called Smog just to add some more depth and darken up my eyes.

Now it's time to smoke out those eyes, taking a shade that was very similar to smog but a little darker called Snake bite from the Naked 2 palette,  i took it on the same fluffy brush and blended it onto the out corner on my eye and the outer end of my crease, take your time with this adding the colour little by little, you can always add more to make it darker, but it's a lot harder to lighten the look if you go in too heavy handed.

I now took a more true gold colour caked half baked which is in both the Naked palettes and just patter some of this on the middle of the eye lid just to intensify the gold.

Now for the face, start by priming your face, here I used benefits porefessional, this is my new favourite at the moment as it really helps my foundation stay and reduces the look of my pores especially around my nose.

The Victoria's secrets angels always have lovely dewy skin , so before putting on any foundation I just blended in a bit of L'oreal's lumi magique base on my cheek bones and temples, I dotted it on in this C shape and then just blended it in well, this stuff also works great as a highlighter on top of your foundation.

Now for foundation, I didn't want to go in with one of my super heavy MAC foundations as the angels always look flawless but not cakey, so I went for my Mayeline fit me, now this can definitely be built up into a full coverage but I used as little as possible to keep it sheer and light. The colour might look to dark for my face but remember you need to match your foundation to the colour of your neck, and since I have a bit of tan on once blended in this match perfectly.

Before I started this next step, I took a concealer from collection 2000 and just put a little under my eyes, I then took smog on a very little brush and just blended it in to my water line, I then took half baked and placed some of this on the inner corner of my eye as a highlight.

I didn't want the eye liner to heavy for this look, using my MAC fluid line in black track, which is a gel liner that comes in a little pot, I took a really thin brush and lined my eyes really thinly and added a very small flick just to accentuate my eye shape.

Add a coat of mascara not to much yet however as we are going to add some lashes.

For the lashes I cut a pair of my Nadine by girls aloud lashes in half and just used the outer halves, this really elongates your eye and makes the outer corner look more smokey then in is. Wearing a half pair of lashes is also a lot more comfortable then a full strip and easier to apply and blend in. I then took my Maybeline the falsies and gave my top and bottom lashes a good few coats. ( I've added a photo below of one eye with just mascara and one with the half set of lashes just so you can see what a difference it really makes.)

Then just fill in your brows, you can do this however you like, I've actually gone off really filling mine in and I'm quite enjoying leaving them looking a little undone. Here I'm just using a dark brown eye shadow from MAC just to darken them so they match my hair colour a little more. I also used my MAC mineralize skin finish from the semiprecious collection in gold stone to add a bit of highlight under my brow. I only used the middle pinky gold colour for this not the actual bronze colour.

Now you couldn't be a Victoria's secret angel without there gorgeous bronze glow, so taking a matte bronzer, I used my good old favourite from Rimmel, start to bronze up your face, for this you need to think where the sun would hit you if you tanned naturally, so places like your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin and focus most of the bronzer  here and then buff it out on the rest of your face. And don't forget to match up your neck.

Take a light colour highlighter nothing to shimmery or bright, and just dust this onto the tops of your cheek bones. I'm using the highlighter from my sleek contouring palette.

For the lips you want to keep them nude but glossy, I used a lip liner to line and fill in my lips, I used sweet pink from Maybelline, then over the top I added a gold shimmery gloss from Rimmel called non-stop glamour.

And that is the make up done.

Now to finish the hair, I just took the same curler as before and curled the rest of my hair that hasn't been pinned up.

Now unpin the curls surrounding your face and don't worry if they seem too curly at the moment.

Now just take your hands and gently comb through the curls with your fingers slightly pulling on them to make them looser, carry on doing this until you are happy with your curls.

Now just add some volume by back combing the roots as much or as little as you like, then add plenty of hair spray and some oil or finishing spray to the end to make your hair look super glossy.

And that is your Victoria's secret angels look done.

Hope this was easy enough to follow, I'm going to do a few more Victoria's secrets looks soon, as a few of the girls have different looks and hair, and like I said at the beginning of this post who doesn't want to look like an angel.
