New year new me ...

Hey Guys :)

Be warned this might be a very long wordy post ! and I just want to say before you start reading this, this is all my opinion and what works for me, obviously I'm not a personal trainer or nutritionist so don't just rely on my information.

So I'm not usually the one to be all like new year new me and all that jazz, but after a year dealing with anxiety and just not feeling my self, I've decided to finally try to lose the weight I gained in 2012. And I also have a trip to Singapore and Thai land planned in April so I want to look my best for that.

I didn't want to go on one of these silly diets that you can only keep up with for like 3 weeks and then you just give, I wanted to change the way I thought about food and not just food but how I felt about myself, as I think this is also key to changing mindsets and habits.

So I realised I was the heaviest I had ever been, and obviously this wasn't making me feel my best, but what I hadn't noticed was that I had really stopped looking after myself, usually I have a fake tan on, hair all done, makeup on , nails done and a good morning and night skin routine , but I looked in the mirror and realised I had stopped all this and just didn't look like myself . This is when I decided enough was enough, I wasn't going to make a change while not feeling good about myself, so I told myself this is biggest I'm going be and things will just get better from here.
My new healthy food

Next was planning what I was going to eat and how I was going to shift the weight, I looked at a lot diets such as weight watchers, slimming world ect. But decided to go for the Rosemary Conley amazing inch loss plan, as I had given this ago in the past and found it easy to stick to and it worked. I decided the way to keep on track would be to keep organized  so I sat down with the diet book, ( which has meal plans, tips for eating out, exercises to do and motivational stories) and I planned my next 14 days of food , all 3 meals and both the snacks, I thought that if I had it all wrote down I would be less likely to stray away from it, I also typed up and printed out some shopping lists, so that I am was not tempted to add anything extra when shopping. So far I have found this very helpful and it's really kept me on track.

It's not all about healthy eating however, with me I've found that if I exercise the weight just drops off, I live across the road from a brand new gym so I'm pretty lucky as i'm just a two minuet walk away. At the moment I've found a real love for spinning, and I go to a class everyday , the reason I love it is you work so hard in that 45 mins and it really pays off, I have also been going to gym as well as spinning about 2 or 3 times a week as well. To make myself want to go to the gym more, I got some new workout clothes and accessories during the January sales and this just makes me feel good about myself when I head out to the gym.

This new me hasn't just been about losing weight and changing my body, I've started thinking about life in a much more positive light and at the moment this is making things just go a lot more smoothly, I'm not getting as stressed about the little things and I've found myself just feeling happier in day to day life. I have also become a lot more organized with everything I do, even down to where I keep make up brushes and clothes, and I have found being more organized is really helping to keep my anxiety at bay a little more.

So yesterday was my first weigh day after a week of this new lifestyle, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had lost 10lbs in 7 days, actually I was pretty happy about that. I know every week won't be as big as a loss as this, but that's fine, I know that keeping up with this new diet and exercise and the positive look on life, wont be the easiest thing I've ever done, but I know it will be worth it all in the end.

If you would like any more posts on this sort of thing, such as what meals I've been eating, whats on my shopping list, what I wear to the gym or how I got over my anxiety and I still deal with the odd bit of now, just leave a comment below this point and I will try to do my best to get a post up as soon as possible.

Coastal scents 22 piece brush set ...

Hey Guys :)

So I've been toying with the idea of treating myself to some new makeup brushes for quite a while now, and I looked at a number of different brushes and sets, from individual mac brushes and the sigma essential sets. And after a while I decided that I wanted to save up and get the essential set from sigma, which is just over £100 for 12 brushes, that all changed when about a week ago, I was reading some blogs and I saw some really good reviews about coastal scents 22 piece brush set and it was just over £30, so I decided to give that one a go instead.

The brushes are super good quality and there are all of the brushes you would ever need ( apart from a big round powder brush) and they come in a nice black brush roll which helps protect the brushes and also comes with brush protectors for the larger face brushes.

Below is just a quick run through of the brushes and whether they are natural or synthetic hair, and what coastal scents say that the brushes can be used for, but remember you don't have to use them that way, their your makeup brushes so use them what ever way you want (especially the brush they call their brow brush, I cant really see that one working for brows).

1. Large Fan - Synthetic hair
2. Powder buffer - Synthetic hair
3. Round buffer Synthetic hair
4. Flat buffer - Synthetic hair

5. Angle blush - Natural hair
6.Foundation - Synthetic hair
7. Detail concealer - Synthetic hair
8. Large concealer - Synthetic hair

9. Large shadow - Natural hair
10. Blender -Natural hair
11. Doe foot blender - Natural hair
12. Dome shadow - Natural hair

13. Dome blender - Natural hair
14. Medium shadow - Natural hair
15. Detail shadow - Natural hair
16. Lip - Natural hair

17. Pointed blender - Natural hair
18. Brow - Natural hair
19. Smudger sponge - Rubber

20. Large liner/brow - Synthetic hair
21. Medium liner/brow - Synthetic hair
22. Small liner/brow - Synthetic hair

I would strongly advise this set if your looking for an affordable makeup brush set, its great quality and great price .

Charles Worthington melting balm

Hey Guys :)

So it's been a while, but I just hadn't really felt like posting much over Christmas while I was back home, but I'm back at uni now and its exam time so doing these posts is a nice little break away from the revision.

This is going to be a pretty short post, and its a first impressions review of something that I have read a little about on a few blogs and thought I would give it a go. And its the Charles Worthington Intense Rescue Melting Balm. It's from their new range of Salon At Home Secrets collection. This balm contains 7 exotic oils and butters, which they say are packed with lipids and proteins which are similar to those found in our hair, so that's why they claim it to be so good.

Ok so I'm super into intensive treatments for my hair, as I love to dye it and use bleach on it and a lot of heat, so it's nice to give my hair a little treat every now and again to keep it looking its best, but I have to say I was pretty intrigued by this product as I haven't really seen anything like it before. Just like the name says, when you open the pot it is like a really firm lip balm texture, but once you scoop some out and warm it between your hands, it turns into the most beautiful silky feeling oil. Then you just run through the end of your hair ( avoiding the roots it just makes them a greasy mess) comb it through, I like to use my tangle teezer to do this, then let it sit on your hair for about 20 minuets or longer if you like, then you simply go and wash your hair like you would normally do.

I have only used this product twice and I am in love with it already, my hair feels so soft and smooth, and look healthy and shiny, and it is also claims that it decreases breakage, so I will have to do another post when I have used this product for a little to see if that is true.

I would advise going to boots asap, if you have dry, damaged, over styled or bleached hair as this product is a little pricey at £16.99 but is on offer for £11.33 so you are getting a pretty good deal and I promise you, you will love this product and love what it does to your hair.

Lipstick collection...

Hey guys :)

Just recently I've really been into wearing lipsticks, I always used to stick to gloss and nothing to out there, but now I am really loving all kinds of lipsticks and I have even started wearing quite bold colours in the day time. I have split lipsticks into three groups, Topshop lipsticks, MAC lipsticks and random lipsticks. I've tried to take pictures the best I can, but my lips are pretty dry today so some of the lipsticks don't look as good as they usually do.

The first group of Lipsticks are from topshop, I'm pretty new to Topshop lipsticks but I have to say I love them . The normal lipsticks ( in the white striped tubes) are £8 and the collection lipsticks are £10.

The lipsticks above from left to right on the top photo, and the in the same order swatched on the lips are :
1) Fawn
2) Wicked
3) Secret admirer
4) Mischief
5) Beguiled
6) Mexican wave

Next are my MAC lipsticks these are all £14, and come in range of different textures which I will put next to the colours.

The same applies again the colours are from left to right on the picture at the top, then in the same order for the swatches:
1) Beachbound - Glaze
2) Kinda sexy - Matte
3) Coral bliss - Cremesheen
4) Sunn Seoul - Cremesheen
5) Naughty saute - Cremesheen

Finally are all my random lipsticks, I'm not sure of the prices of these as I've had them all for a while and some were gifts and other I just cant remember  but none of them are very expensive and you can pick them all up at Boots or superdrug, I will put the brand name next to colour.

The same applies again the colours are from left to right on the picture at the top, then in the same order for the swatches:
1) Peace - Boots 17, mirror shine
2) Shocking coral - Gosh, Velvet touch lipstick
3) Pink blush - Rimmel, lasting finish lipstick
4) 01 - Rimmel, Lasting finish By kate moss
5) Red - Fearne Cotton
6) Purple - Fearne Cotton

So this was a pretty quick post, just wanted to show you my lipstick collection, which I'm sure will grow soon, seen as though I love lipsticks at the moment.
