Urban Decay Perversion mascara and Subversion Primer ...

Hey Guys :)

Today I have a  review on the new Perversion mascara and Subversion lash primer from Urban Decay. I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay's Super Curl Curling mascara and have been waiting for their new mascara Perversion to be released, so you can imagine how excited I was the other day when I saw it was finally released, and not only that but they had released a lash primer to go along with it. You can buy Perversion for £17 and it comes with a mini ( but still very generous ) tube of the Subversion primer, the primer can be bought alone and full size for £15, I picked mine up from Debenhams but they are also available on feelunique.com.

If you know Urban Decay you will more then likely know all about their other Perversion products, it first started with there Perversion 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil, which is the only pencil eyeliner that I swear by, it is honestly the blackest liner ever, they then brought out a whole Perversion line of eyeliners including liquid liners, a felt tip liner and a gel liner again all the blackest I have seen. And finally they have brought out Perversion mascara for "Bigger, Blacker, Badder" lashes.

Urban Decay describe Perversion mascara as being an ultra-creamy, lengthening and volumizing mascara. They describe its formula as being not to wet yet not to dry and the colour is the deepest darkest black you can find. It claims to never get clumpy, dry or brittle. Now for the sciencey bit, the formula is enriched with amino acids and proteins which are known to stimulate lash growth, it also contains honey extract for nourishment and marine collagen to protect the lashes. So this is supposed to give you the most amazing biggest blackest lashes and look after them too, this is begging to sound like a girls best friend.

Now for Subversion, Urban Decay describe this as creamy, whipped formula which conditions and primes the lashes, it's said to add weight to your lashes so that Perversion has something more to grip onto creating bigger, fuller and thicker lashes in minuets, add layers of this Vitamin E enriched primer to lashes before your mascara to build up lashes that will have people asking you if you are wearing false lashes all day long.

So you have a bit of background on these two products lets move onto the review:

Here are my lashes, completely product free and naked for everyone to see. As you can see they are not the most amazing lashes ever, and are actually pretty fair towards the ends making them look a lot shorter then they are without product on, they are also not in the best condition right now, I do wear a lot of false lashes and I hold my hands up I'm not always the most gentle when it comes to removing them and unfortunately have lost a few lashes along the way.

First up I tried the Perversion mascara completely alone, I have to say I was pretty impressed with just how black this mascara actually was and how must longer it made my lashes look especially my lower lashes,  I don't think they have ever looked this long without applying about 4 different mascaras and spending about 5 minuets fiddling around with them. I have to say alone I do like this mascara and it would be great for everyday when you just want your eyes to have a little bit more definition. However I do wish it was a little bit more thickening on it's own.

Now for the exciting part, time for Subversion, I found with this product a little really does go along way, make sure there isn't too much product on the wand, I found I got a much better result when I layered this on slowly and a little bit at a time. Don't be alarmed by the white lash look Perversion mascara will defiantly sort that out in the next step.

And here is the grand finale Perversion layered over Subversion and believe it or not this is one coat, I had to stop myself getting carried away, I'm a girl who likes a lot of mascara but for this review I wanted to show you how it works with just one coat, and well I have to say I am very very impressed, my lashes looked so long and a lot thicket then usual and can we just take a moment to appreciate just how black they actually are. If this mascara does all this and is true to all the nourishing, growth stimulating and protecting claims, then this mascara will defiantly be becoming a Permanent member of my makeup collection.
